SETTINGS allows studio management to customize PRF app. Six settings tabs intuitively organize the options.
EDITORS tab overview
PRF is designed for customization. Based on your studio's vibe, beliefs, and legal requirements, you can choose what you present to your clients. Easily document the jewelry and procedures used in piercing sessions, which will be recorded on every waiver. Proving compliance with health laws is automatically assured.
Here, studio management can customize lists of the jewelry, health questions, and legal clauses used most often in your studio. After the client finishes, these lists will be presented to the piercer in the Piercer Notes Pane. The piercer can then choose the jewelry used in each session. The lists built here help piercers make quick work of adding these items to the waiver, especially if required by law. "What gauge did I use in her last session?" is a question of the past.
- PRF comes preloaded with legal clauses, health questions, and jewelry that are standard to our industry. Some are branded, while others are generic options. You can turn these on or off at will and even add your own.
- PRF is friendly with all legitimate brands. We continually court brands to include them in our offerings to make your life easier. A rising tide raises all ships.
- Customize PRF with the following editors: Health Editor, Legal Editor, and Jewelry Editor.
Using PRF Editors
Health Editor
You have total control over the health questions presented to your clients. PRF is preloaded with many health questions, which are shown to your clients by default. This is intended to help you set the app up quickly and get to work.
The Piercing Release Forms App editor is configurable in four sections:
1. Health Questions
2. Allergies
3. Diseases
4. Health Conditions
Allergies, Diseases, and Health Conditions are customizable lists you manage by showing or hiding options to your clients. You can also add your own options.
- Show options to your clients by tapping the eye icon; gold means they will see it.
- Hide options from your clients by tapping the eye icon; grey and slashed means they won't see it.
- Add custom options by tapping +ADD NEW___, typing your option, and tapping DONE.
- Tap SAVE at the bottom of the screen.
Legal Editor
You have total control over the legal clauses presented to your clients. PRF is preloaded with many legal clauses, which are shown to your clients by default. This is intended to help you set the app up quickly and get to work.
Assembling your legal clauses
Clauses can be quickly added, removed, or edited. The default clauses preloaded in PRF can also be restored in one tap.
Here are a few tips to save time and help format your final PDF waivers.
- We suggest you assemble all of your clauses in a digital document and number them in the order you choose. Then, access the clause document on your iPad (we love Google Docs). Cut, copy, and paste the clauses into the Legal Clause Editor by switching between apps.
- Adding these symbols < > around your studio name will place it in the clause.
- e.g. <MyStudio>
- Adding and will embolden words in your clauses.
- e.g. NO WHINING
- These clauses will back up automatically to your cloud, so they are auto-restored if/when you move into a new iPad. Too easy.
Editing your legal clauses
- Tap a clause to edit; it will present a text input field—type or CCPaste in your clause. Tap 'Save Changes. '
- Tap the +ADD NEW CLAUSE. It will present a text input field—type or CCPaste in your clause. Tap 'Save Changes. '
- Tap RESTORE DEFAULT CLAUSES to restore the clauses that were preloaded in PRF.
- Tap the red trash can to remove a clause.
Regarding Minors and -18+ clauses
PRF has a dedicated section for building and storing your own minor's clause in Settings > EDITORS tab > LEGAL editor. We preloaded a hefty clause in there to get you started, shared with us by piercers.
If the client dials in a birthday younger than age 18, PRF will know this and automatically offer them the minor's clause, be it your custom clause or this PRF default minor's clause:
"I approve of the piercer who is piercing my son/daughter/ward. I agree to release and forever discharge and hold the piercer and all studio employees harmless from all claims, damages, or legal actions arising from or connected with the piercer or the procedure used for piercing.
By my signature below, I certify that I am the parent/legal guardian of this minor, who is willingly submitting to these procedures."
If the client dials in a birthday older than age 18, PRF will know this and automatically offer them the default adult clause:
"I have truthfully represented to [YourBusinessName] PIERCING STUDIO that I am over eighteen (18)."
Please note that the proper clause regarding age will be presented to your client, and only one, based on the birthdate they provide.
Further, when PRF detects a minor by the age provided, it will alert the piercer in the Piercer Notes Pane Flow.
Jewelry Editor
PRF gives you control over every aspect and detail of the jewelry used in your studio. When piercers complete their part of the client waiver in the Piercer Notes Pane Flow, they can dial in every detail in the Jewelry Editor.
Editing the Jewelry List
- Go to Settings>Management Passcode>Editors>Jewelry Editor>Tap to edit the lists. All of the jewelry detail editors work the same way.
- Tap the list you'd like to alter. In this example, let's consider the Gem Color List
- Tap +ADD NEW GEM COLOR
- Remove unwanted color options: tap the red trash can.
- Restore the default color options in case you miss them.
- Tap DONE.
- Tap SAVE at the bottom of the screen.
After all lists are edited, tap SAVE AND VERIFY.
